About The Author
A master of energy healing, Brett Bevell is a Reiki Master who advocates listening to the Divine presence that exists in all forms of energy healing. Through his own journey for self-healing, Brett has developed some of the most innovative Reiki techniques since Reiki's founder Mikao Usui. Brett also discovered other forms of energy healing, most notably, Light of the Eternal One, an extremely powerful energy healing practice inspired by the ancient Essenes that anyone can learn. Light of the Eternal One is the subject of Brett's newest book Energy Healing for Everyone: A Path to Wholeness and Awakening (Monkfish Book Publishing August 2014). Brett's other books The Reiki Magic Guide To Self Attunement, Reiki for Spiritual Healing, and New Reiki Software for Divine Living have opened the doorway for tens of thousands of people all around the globe to access energy healing for themselves, friends, and family. His books have been translated into Russian, Greek, and Brazilian Portuguese.
Brett lives in upstate New York and teaches at Omega Institute as both a workshop presenter and weekly facilitator.

Q: How did you become interested in energy healing?
A: I began my energy healing journey in 1993 after a challenging experience at the NYU dental center. The student who was pulling my wisdom tooth was very rough, and after the experience my face looked like Mohammed Ali had punched me in the jaw. My roommate at the time was a Reiki healer, and when he saw me come home later that day he offered me my first energy healing session. The healing greatly relieved my pain, and I took a Reiki class the following week. Ever since then it has been a wonderful healing journey, and I have expanded beyond just Reiki to also examine other modalities of energy healing
Q: What are some of the important benefits of energy healing?
A: I have used energy healing as an ongoing practice of self care, and find it can be helpful in releasing stress, healing physical issues, and maintaining a sense of emotional calm and inner peace. I have known some who have credited energy healing as being an important part of their recovery from illnesses as serious as cancer. For me personally, energy healing techniques are what have allowed me to flourish emotionally, overcoming aspects of severe childhood abuse that traditional psychotherapy seemed incapable of healing after many years of trying. So, I can say from personal experience that the effects of energy healing can be profound and life changing.
Q: How did you discover this form of energy healing you call Light of the Eternal One?
A: I had many profound mystic experiences during 2007, some which lasted for weeks on end. It was a time in my life when I felt incredibly open, seeing complex math equations in my mind’s eye much of the time, which I did not comprehend in terms of math, but which opened me to this sense of tapping into an awareness of eternity. Later I read that seeing such equations often happens to those who are being contacted by ascended masters such as Saint Germain. That year I also traveled extensively to sacred sites in Asia and Europe, and was training in other deep energy healing techniques. So something within me was ripe to receive this wonderful form of energy healing.
Q: Why would you recommend someone read your book Energy Healing for Everyone: A Path to Wholeness and Awakening?
A: We are all sparks of Divine light. Einstein knew this and said it in his equation E=MC2. In the Bible, it says God began creating with the statement “Let There be Light.” Whether you are a mystic or student of modern physics, everything is seen as made of light. What Energy Healing for Everyone offers is a simple, user-friendly technique to tap into that Divine light that is the underlying matrix of all creation. And when you tap into that light, it connects you to the Divine presence that created that light—whether you call that God, Jesus, Allah, Buddha, or just Goddess—therefore dispelling the illusion that somehow you are isolated and alone in the universe. You’d be surprised how much that can change your life, to feel connected suddenly to everything, to all that is. It brings a sense of inner peace, calm, and sometimes even bliss.
Q: Do you have to see or feel energy in order for it to work?
A: I am often asked in my classes the question of how important it is for one to feel or see the energy in order for it to work in the healing process. The answer quite simply is no, you do not need to see or feel the energy in order for it to work any more than you would need to see something or feel something unusual when taking a pill prescribed by a doctor. We often get attached to the phenomenon of energy healing. Sometimes people do see colors, spirits, angels, and feel heat or tingling as the healing happens. But many people experience none of these things and yet still are impacted deeply by the energy in terms of its healing effect. What I ask people to use as their litmus test of the energy is to ask themselves after repeated use whether their life is improving; do they feel less stress, more open, more in tune with who they really are inside? If so, then the healing is working.
Q: What is the most profound healing you have seen or experienced using energy healing?
A: Drawing upon my own personal experience, I have to say quite honestly that if you look at the statistics about the type of family I grew up in—with severe substance abuse, child abuse that was violent, including sexual abuse—I should have ended up either a drug addict, insane, or something worse. Many who have experienced the type of childhood I did end up in prison or dead. And although there were years when I did struggle before I found energy healing techniques that could help, I have actually transformed my life to be abundant, fun, and filled with love and laughter. All of this I credit to the many modalities of energy healing I have used over the past 20 years. What some cannot quite understand is that the energy cords between a child and one who has abused them in the past cannot usually be cleared by traditional therapy, or time, or moving away from someone. They linger and influence us for most of our lives unless dealt with. But, using powerful energy healing techniques, they can be cleared and released entirely. I am happily married and have been with the same woman for 11 years, employed in a job that I love for almost 15 years. I travel the world, teach, and am extremely happy. Most of my healing practice the past two decades has involved some form of energy healing.
Q: Can anyone become an energy healer?
A: Yes, anyone can become an energy healer, all it takes is a little time to become empowered to a specific modality and learn a few simple techniques. Most energy healing modalities require some form of initiation. These initiations open a person to a specific vibration of Divine light. Reiki is perhaps the most well known, yet there are many others, like rays of light on what I refer to as the Divine rainbow of energy healing. I am trained in several modalities, but the easiest and simplest is the Light of the Eternal One energy form, which literally is a form of energy healing for everyone. It has one simple hand position, no symbols or mantras to memorize, and yet is extremely powerful. Anyone can learn it.
Q: Is energy healing a way to empower people to take charge of their own lives?
A: Yes, energy healing, be it Light of the Eternal One, Reiki, Rei-ju, or some other form, can be more than just about healing our body and psyche. There are techniques one can use to send energy to situations, to work issues, life issues around money, community and more. It really is a way to empower yourself in all aspects of your life. So, it empowers a person not only to heal but also to thrive.
Q: Can energy healing lead to higher states of consciousness or even enlightenment?
A: There is evidence that energy healing can lead to changes in human consciousness that are beneficial and of a deeply spiritual nature. In the Reiki tradition, Dr. Mikao Usui, the person all Reiki can be traced back to, saw energy healing also as a path to spiritual awakening. And today there are numerous energy healers who talk about their own awakening process related to energy healing. Sometimes it can be a little too much, where there is a promise of instant enlightenment only if you take the right class. That can be a trap, I think. But, I do believe the dedicated and sincere student, who practices daily to release the veil of illusion energetically, first by healing themselves and then by healing the world around them, can attain higher states of consciousness, including spiritually awakened states, through energy healing alone.
Q: Can you send energy healing distantly?
A: Yes. The majority of the people I perform paid healings on are in Hollywood, people such as Carrie Ann Inaba from Dancing With the Stars who has publicly endorsed my work. I have never met her in person. I live in New York State and she lives in California, and yet I have worked with her and others often who are thousands of miles away. Energy healing can be sent distantly, and often seems more powerful when sent at a distance.
